Our Beliefs

We at Madison Presbyterian Church welcome you

to a community bound together by the love of God

and by concern for each other and for the world in which we live.

We are a part of the Protestant tradition and the Reformed church known as the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).   We believe in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.  We believe God comes to us in the person of Jesus Christ who lived, died, and rose for us that we might belong to God and serve Christ in the world.  Following Jesus, Presbyterian Christians are engaged in the world and seek thoughtful solutions to the challenges of our time.

We are a congregation continuing to learn from the past, acting in the present to build for the future. Strengthened by our diversity and individuality and our leadership, we are committed to serve as faithful stewards of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our continuing mission is to build our church to the glory of God with renewed spirit, honoring those who have gone before and rejoicing in those who are to come.  (From the 175th Anniversary Mission Statement, 1990)

We are dedicated to following Christ by teaching the word of God, nurturing people for ministry, and sending them out to live in service to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.  (Adapted from the 2005 Mission Statement)
